Being from Charlotte I spent a lot of time in the summer at Gun Lake and Yankee Springs Rec Area near Hastings. The summer trips also included usually a stop at Dog N' Suds in Hastings on the way home.
Constructed in 1924 before Parchment was even an incorporated city, the Mosel Avenue Bridge, which spanned Riverview Drive and the Kalamazoo River, holds a special place in the memories of longtime residents in the Parchment community.
123 South Street. That's all it is now. A garage door at an address. But if said "Party on the Bayou", a whole generation of Kalamazooans would probably smile. Maybe even wince a little, too (at memories of a few mornings after, not to mention a few walks of shame)
