Just in time for the Spring thaw, lawmakers are trying to make it legal in Michigan to leave your car running while unattended.

You may remember stories from early 2017 about Michigan car owners being ticketed for warming up their cars in their own driveways; the Detroit Free Press is reporting that the State House of Representatives is trying to ensure that this won't happen again. There is one proviso to keep in mind:

This would just rescind the rule of someone warming up their car on their own private property. We’re keeping in place the provisions dealing with a car running unattended on a public roadway or parking lot.
