Watch U2 Perform ‘The Little Things That Give You Away’ on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
In their only television appearance to promote The Joshua Tree's 30th anniversary and tour, U2 visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night, where they played "The Little Things That Give You Away" from their forthcoming LP Songs of Experience. You can watch the performance above.
The song has already become a staple of their live set lists since the tour began, but fans at home can now hear the quality audio.
Of course, celebrating the anniversary, the band played the classic Joshua Tree track "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," joined by a gospel choir. They also spent some time on the couch with Kimmel, where they discussed a wide range of topics, from a release date for Songs of Experience which they had paused work on to focus on the tour, to Bruce Springsteen's advice, Donald Trump's presidency and the terrorist attack in Manchester. You can see clips of all of it below.
“[W]e definitely want to take this opportunity to think about it, make sure it’s really what we want to put out given the changes that have occurred in the world,” the Edge said earlier this year. “And maybe a little will change, but we absolutely wanted to take that chance just to reconsider everything. And who knows? We may even write a couple of new songs because that’s the very position we’re in. We’ve given ourselves a little bit of breathing space for creativity.”
