3 Michigan Locales Top 25 U.S. Best White Christmas Destinations
Know what I've been saying for the past few years about Winter in Michigan? "How about 50s till December, snow for Christmas and then it can start warming back up in the new year". Of course, I don't take into consideration that average snowfall is necessary for Winter sports and other activities and the lack of it would hamper tourism. The bottom line is i just want it to look like Christmas on Christmas.
Recently, viewfinder.expedia.com did a national survey to find the 25 best places in the United States to spend a White Christmas. Sure there were the obvious destinations like Aspen, CO, Lake Tahoe, CA New York, NY and, of course, North Pole Alaska. You might be surprised that coming in at #14 ahead of some well known and very popular places was Musining, MI. The draw being 41 inches of annual snowfall, just over 4 miles from the town of Christmas and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Not far behind at #16 was Marquette, MI and Sault Ste Marie at #18.
