Detroit Michigan Members of The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame
The city of Detroit has made some contributions to the music industry like no other, it was where the Motown sound was created. Berry Gordy and Motown Records put Detroit on the map back in the 60’s and 70’s. Detroit was also a Rock and Roll town, with Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels and Bob Seger leading the way, and many more would follow.
Punk Rock got a start in Detroit with Iggy Pop and the Stooges along with the MC5. Michigan has always been proud of it’s musical heritage. And other bands not from Detroit appreciate the love for music this state and it’s residents embraces.
Kiss isn’t from Detroit, but they recorded Detroit Rock City. Journey is from San Francisco but one of their most popular songs “Don’t Stop Believing” mentions South Detroit. (which doesn’t exist by the way) We love our Michigan Bands, even the ones not yet in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
But this little gallery is made with pride showing off Michigan’s contributions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We have ten members in there so far, and believe me we have others that will end up there eventually. Who do you think should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that haven’t been nominated yet?
