Party After the Parade- Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and Find Out What A Hooley Is at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe
The annual cancer benefit concert Hooley for Healing takes place at Bell's Eccentric Cafe on Saturday, March 11, immediately following Kalamazoo's St. Patrick's Day parade.
Merriam-Webster defines hooley as "an Irish party usually with music." Hooley for Healing is more than that; combining traditional Irish music, dancing, food and drink, into an effort to help three area families battling cancer.
Blarney Castle, a progressive Celtic band from Kalamazoo provides the music and you can also enjoy dancers from the Quinn School of Irish Dance, and the Kalamazoo Pipe Band. A silent auction will feature goods and services from several local businesses. Admission is free, though donations at the door will be appreciated. All proceeds will be going to three area families coping with cancer.
The party begins at noon, immediately following the St. Patrick's Day parade and Bell's will serve its regular menu.
