Justin Verlander Has The World Series Championship In His Hands
Last nights' World Series game was a roller coaster of emotions as the Houston Astros were able to pull it out with a 13-12 victory in the 10th inning.
Tomorrow night the former Detroit Tigers pitcher has the chance to pitch the game of his career and become a World Series Champion for the first time in his 12 year career. With last night's victory, the Houston Astros have moved to 3-2 in the series needing just one win to clinch the championship.
Justin Verlander is slated to start Tuesday's Game 6 of the World Series Championship and if statistics are any sign of how his game will go, he may finally get his ring:
- Since being traded to Houston on August 31st, he has gone 5-0 with an ERA of 1.06.
- So far this season he is 4-0 with an ERA of 2.05 with a fifth start ending as a No Decision Astros Victory.
- In games started where a series can be clinched he is 4-1 with an ERA of 1.21.
JV was a stud for Detroit for years. He is arguably the greatest Tigers pitcher of all time. I believe he is Hall of Fame class. If he turns it up tomorrow and leads the Astros to a World Series Championship, I don't think there will be any argument about that. I'm rooting for Verlander. He's earned a title.
