KVCC Instructor to Compete on Food Network’s ‘Spring Baking Championship’
Cory Barrett, a chef and instruction at Kalamazoo Valley Community College's culinary program will be competing on Food Network's Spring Baking Championship.
The show will air Monday March 18 at 9 and kick off the 5th season of the reality cooking competition.
Cory's bio on the Food Network site reads like this
Cory may look like an average Midwestern dad, but he has over 20 years of culinary experience. He is also no stranger to Food Network, having worked with Michael Symon on 17 episodes of Iron Chef. His favorite spring dessert is a strawberry shortcake made with biscuits in strawberry broth topped with mascarpone mousse and strawberry ice.

Chef Cory Barrett, part of Kalamazoo Valley’s culinary faculty, will be a contestant on the new season of Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship with host Clinton Kelly and judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Lorraine Pascale. Tune in on Monday, March 18 at 9 p.m. or join us beginning at 8:30 p.m. for a viewing party at Valley’s Culinary and Allied Health Building, 418 East Walnut Street in downtown Kalamazoo.
