The Last Lone Star Steakhouse in Michigan Has Closed and Now I’m Hungry
Did you even know Michigan still had a Lone Star? Now that they have closed the Mount Pleasant restaurant, only 3 remain in the country.
With 265 restaurants across the United States at the end of the 90s, it is the end of an era as the last Lone Star Steakhouse in Michigan has closed. Mount Pleasant carnivores were surprised to find a note on the door October 5th that read:
To our valued guests, this location is now closed. Thank you for your business and we hope to serve you at another location very soon.
Central Michigan Life, the CMU online student newspaper reminds us that "former locations in Jackson and Battle Creek closed their doors in November 2016 and January 2017, respectively." If you want to get to Lone Star, you've got to travel to Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Middletown, Ohio or Asheville, North Carolina.
So who is the new sheriff of steakhouses now that Lone Star has been run out of town? Outback? Texas Roadhouse? Logan's? Black Rock? The Grill House in Allegan? Give us your favorites in the comments below.
