St Joseph County Conservation District is organizing a series of river cleanup events throughout the summer. Each cleanup event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the designated locations and will include lunch.

Those planning to participate should contact Shaun Grace at Shaun.grace@macd.org to register. She can also answer any questions about the event and try to supply boats or other needed equipment if possible.

Here the dates and locations for the upcoming river cleanup events:

  • Prairie River- Saturday, June 1st at 9:30 am (Starting at Findley Rd
    and ending at Lake Templene 3.1 miles) with lunch provided
  • Fawn River- Saturday, June 15th at 9:30 am (Starting at Dickerson
    Rd and ending at Haybridge Rd, 3.2 miles) with lunch provided
  • Prairie River- Saturday, June 29th at 9:30 am (Starting at Centreville
    Canoe Park and ending at Hoshel Rd, 3.8 miles) with lunch provided
  • Prairie River- Saturday, July 13th at 9:30 am (starting at Hoshel Rd
    and ending at Sauganash Golf Course, 4.5 miles) with lunch
    provided
  • Pigeon River- Saturday, July 27th at 9:30 am (starting at Kalamazoo St and ending at Blue School Rd, 3.6 miles) with lunch provided
  • Pigeon River- Saturday, August 10th at 9:30 am (starting at Vistula
    Rd and ending at Thomas Rd, 2.5 mi) with lunch provided

A make up date is scheduled for Monday August 12th , 2019 should one of the previous dates get cancelled.
