Schupan & Sons Investing $10M And Creating 80 Jobs In Kalamazoo
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we don't have an unemployment problem we have an employment problem. Just last week we had Kevin Roesheck and Mary Francis Oliphant on the show talking about all the great opportunities at Schupan & Sons and what an incredible place it is to work. I know first hand what a great family atmosphere they've created and how people will turn down better paying jobs to stay there.
Now comes word from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation that Schupan & Sons has chosen Kalamazoo for a 10 million dollar expansion which will create 80 new jobs over the next 3 years. When I say chosen I mean that there were competing options in Indiana and Ohio where Schupan & Sons have other operations. We are in the midst of an employment renaissance in S.W. Michigan and I certainly hope that we can bring enough employees to take advantage. Companies like Schupan & Sons are thriving and expanding. I would hate for progress to slow due to an unavailable workforce.
