Reading about new ballpark food items for 2022 is kind of like going grocery shopping when you're hungry; not a good idea, because you want everything.
I don't pretend to understand how the Chinese calendar works. I love the food (and the fortune cookies) but like most people outside of Asia, don't really understand how and why this is the Year of the Tiger. I guess it has to do with the Chinese zodiac and I do know one thing. Something's up.
We all saw the headlines when the Detroit Tigers signed former Chicago Cub and New York Met Javier Baez to a $140 free agent deal. In many ways it's maybe a better deal than if they'd gotten Carlos Correa. Correa maybe a better shortstop, but the Baez deal is a lot more financially manageable, and Baez' defense (critical to playing shortstop) is not his problem. His defense is quite good, and he has a World Series ring under his belt.
I've been reading some speculation in the Detroit media about maybe Justin Verlander coming "home". Everyone knows wife Kate Upton is from here, and a reunion at Comerica Park would make a storybook ending.
This post is about the decision to move the game to Denver this year. Why not Detroit instead? What has Denver got, other than big mountains, that we don't have?
An email poured in. "Hey, take a look. Black and white footage of Michigan playing Ohio State". Ok. Truth: I thought "oh, yeah, back when Michigan won a game like that".
