"Long-awaited" is a term thrown around often enough, but in the case of this musical play about the life of the legendary Billie Holiday, it really has been more than a couple of years of waiting, due to Covid. Farmers Alley Theatre and the Gilmore Piano Festival are finally able to put on this Tony-Award-winning play, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.
If we ever needed a slamming door, whodunit farce, right about now would be it. And this musical "Murder for Two - Holiday Edition" which won some pretty prestigious awards about five years ago, not to mention standing ovations at the Gilmore Piano Festival, fits the bill.
Farmers Alley's 12th season promises to bring you more of the shows you love with new and challenging re-tellings. Executive Director Adam Weiner says, "Our 21th season... continue(s) to raise the bar when it comes to professional theatre in West Michigan." Without further ado, lets check out the calendar, shall we?
